Skilled nursing

Licensed nurses visit for medically necessary, part-time skilled care: wounds, medications, IV or nutrition therapy, injections, and monitoring of a serious or unstable condition. They also teach you and your family how to stay safe between visits.

What this can include

  • Wound care for pressure sores or a surgical wound
  • Patient and caregiver education
  • Intravenous or nutrition therapy as ordered
  • Injections and medication teaching
  • Monitoring a serious illness or unstable health status
  • Post-hospital and post-surgical follow-up
  • Catheter, ostomy, tube feeding, and other skilled procedures
